In the College of Natural Sciences (https://www.natsci.colostate.edu/), we ask fundamental questions and apply our knowledge to every field of study. We are home to eight departments, biology, psychology, biochemistry and molecular biology, mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, and chemistry.
Job Summary:
As the Social Media Student Assistant on the College of Natural Sciences communication team, you will support the college's efforts through various social media and communication tasks.
Job Duties:
Leading social media content planning, development, and scheduling for the College of Natural Science’s social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube)
Staying on top of social media trends, and finding creative ways to replicate them on the College of Natural Sciences Instagram
Tracking social media analytics of posts, and using information to pivot strategy across channels
Design and produce graphic design assets for use on social media
Maintaining and updating the college’s social media calendar
Required Qualifications:
Current CSU student studying journalism, communication, marketing, or a related field OR a current CSU College of Natural Sciences student
Understanding of various social media platforms and how they work
Excellent time management skills and ability to juggle multiple deadlines
Detail oriented
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office - specifically Word, Teams, and Outlook
A willingness to learn and develop new communication skills
The ability to work independently or as a team
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with photography and videography for social media
Interest in science communication
Experience gathering, documenting, and interpreting social media analytics
Experience using Canva
Hours per week: Approximately 10-15 hours per week.
Remote Option: Hybrid schedule may be offered for this position after training.
Hourly rate: $15.16/hour
Anticipated Start Date: September 21, 2026
End Date: While the end date for this position is listed as December 11, 2026, it can be extended if agreed upon by CNS and the student employee.
