Job Summary:

As a Purchasing Intern at SteelFab, you will secure the materials, supplies, and equipment that drive our business forward. We're looking for someone who is ambitious, motivated, and eager to grow within our company. You'll receive hands-on training, expanding your skills through a variety of key responsibilities, including:

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between vendors and our shop.
• Create and manage Purchase Orders.
• Process receiving documents and corresponding paperwork.
• Reconcile invoices with Purchase Orders, ensuring everything is properly coded and submitted to Accounting for payment.
• Review and process detailed shop drawings.
• Build relationships with vendors, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
• Reconcile inventory and maintain accurate records.
• Manage materials and procurement for sublet fabricators.
• Work closely with internal teams like Pre-Construction, Project Management, and the Shop to provide top-notch service and resolve any issues.
• Maintain a Pre-Construction material cost database to aid in estimating future projects.
• Fabrication Shop Week: Gain hands-on experience with SteelFab’s fabrication flow and production processes, deepening your understanding of the entire construction lifecycle.

Qualifications and Requirements

Major: Business, Supply Chain or related fields  

Required: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or an associate degree. 

Preferred: Familiarity with procurement software and tools. Knowledge of purchasing functions, inventory management and supply chain systems.
