Job Summary:
Join SteelFab as a Detailer Intern and immerse yourself in the world of construction. As a Detailer Intern, you'll gain experience creating detailed drawings and models that serve as the foundation for successful construction projects. Working closely with our Engineering and Fabrication teams, you'll develop your technical skills and understanding of structural design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an understanding of the structural steel detailing process by successfully completing the Detailer Training program.
- Read and comprehend design documents and the specifications set by AISC, AWS, ASTM, and others.
- Utilize structural and architectural drawings to create detailed 3D models to accurately represent project components.
- Train for computer software programs utilized by the Detailing Department.
- Develop the ability to work independently, build confidence in decision-making skills, and approach tasks with a strong sense of urgency.
- Learn to identify and communicate errors and discrepancies in design information to ensure projects are accurate.
- Understand and apply project connection designs as outlined in design documents.
- Fabrication Shop Week: Gain hands-on experience with the fabrication flow and production processes in SteelFab’s shop.

Qualifications and Requirements
Major: Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields
Required: Microsoft Office experience, common computer skills. Valid driver’s license
Preferred: Some experience in the construction or engineering industry through work, internships, or part-time employment. CAD and 3D modeling software experience
