The Center for Analytics & Data Science (CADS) at Texas State University is seeking Student Workers to support interdisciplinary AI, data science, research-computing, and outreach activities.

Hours: Up to 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling  

Key responsibilities 

  • Support faculty-led and interdisciplinary AI and data science research projects.  
  • Assist faculty and the CADS AI Engineer with applied research and CADS Data & AI Lab initiatives.  
  • Help develop research-computing resources and support related programming, as needed.  
  • Create website content featuring CADS events, news, and project highlights.  
  • Represent CADS at selected campus, industry, and professional networking events.  

Qualifications 

  • Current TXST student in engineering, computer science, information systems and analytics, or a related field.  
  • Python programming experience and foundational AI/ML or data-science skills.  
  • Strong interest in AI, data science, applied research, professional development.  
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.  
  • Ability to balance research, technical, communications, and outreach tasks.  

Preferred 

  • Experience with research-computing platforms, HPC, or the Texas State LEAP2 cluster.  
  • Experience creating web, social-media, or event-related content.
