The Sandra Bornstein Holocaust Education Center is seeking an engaging Facilitator for READ, our new after-school Holocaust education program for students in grades 6–8, two to three hours/week, Wednesday afternoons, 3-5 PM. 

READ brings history to life through books, comics, art, photographs, primary sources, survivor testimony, and hands-on projects. The facilitator will work with Center staff to lead activities and discussions, support students, and create an engaging and welcoming learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Help lead weekly discussions, readings, art activities, and hands-on projects
• Engage students with historical sources, literature, and survivor testimony
• Support classroom management and an inclusive learning environment
• Assist with program materials and student projects

We’re looking for someone who:

• Enjoys working with middle school students
• Has experience in education, youth programming, museums, history, Holocaust studies, or a related field
• Is dependable, organized, collaborative, and comfortable discussing challenging history with young people

Knowledge of the Holocaust required. Training, curriculum, lesson plans, and materials are provided.

Schedule: Wednesdays, 3:00–4:00 p.m., September 30–December 16, 2026, excluding school holidays, plus paid preparation time
Location: Sandra Bornstein Holocaust Education Center, 401 Elmgrove Ave., Providence
Compensation: $35/hour.
