Location: New York, NY (Hybrid), 2 to 3 days per week in West Village office Start Date: September or October 2026 Commitment: 25 to 40 hours per week Compensation: $18 to $22.50 per hour + commissions on sales, based on experience Priority consideration to early applicants

WHO WE ARE

FitBiomics is a biotechnology company spun out of Harvard University, pioneering the next generation of health through microbiome innovation. Our flagship products, Nella and V·Nella, are clinically backed performance probiotics derived from elite athletes, supporting sleep, digestion, fatigue, recovery, and exercise motivation. Our founding research was published in Nature Medicine, and our human clinical data was published in Microbiome Journal.

We are a small, mission driven team of scientists, athletes, and creatives who believe in defying limits and elevating human potential from the inside out.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a Business Development and Partnerships Intern to help us grow FitBiomics' commercial footprint across five community verticals: run clubs and endurance, wellness and recovery, women's health, weight management and GLP·1, and longevity and active aging.

This is not a research or shadowing role. You will inherit a built pipeline: mapped verticals, complete outreach playbooks, and live partner conversations already in motion with recreational sports platforms, fitness studios, and community organizations. You will work real accounts under direct mentorship, with your own outreach and your own results.

This role is geared toward students in the final year of their program and recent graduates who are ready to step into a career. There is strong potential for this internship to turn into first full time BD/GTM hire at the end of this internship cycle.

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, including business, marketing, and communications students, and science students who are drawn to the commercial side of biotech.

WHAT WILL THIS POSITION DO?

Pipeline and outreach

  • Own a set of named accounts within our five community verticals
  • Research and qualify partner organizations: studios, clubs, clinics, communities, and practitioner networks
  • Personalize and send outreach using our existing enablement kits and five touch sequences
  • Follow up on non responders, log every touch, and keep the pipeline honest
  • Book discovery calls and carry them alongside the team, with growing independence over the course of the internship

Partner activation

  • Coordinate product sampling for community events, classes, and group activations
  • Help prepare partner facing materials: one pagers, protocol cards, and activation proposals
  • Coordinate fulfillment of seed product and follow up on partner feedback
  • Support negotiation of activation terms within agreed guardrails

Systems and reporting

  • Maintain contact and account records in our tracker and CRM
  • Monitor outreach metrics such as reply rate, meeting rate, and activation conversion
  • Flag data quality problems, including bad contact records and deliverability risks
  • Contribute to weekly pipeline reporting for leadership

WHAT ARE THE TRAITS OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE?

Required

  • Final year undergraduate or graduate student, or graduated within the past two years
  • Strong written communication and copywriting skills. You will write a lot of emails and do cold calling.
  • Organized and detail oriented, comfortable with spreadsheets and CRM systems
  • Proactive and resourceful, able to work without close supervision
  • Genuine interest in health, wellness, fitness, and science backed products

Preferred

  • Prior experience in sales, business development, partnerships, community building, or customer facing work
  • Comfort on the phone and in person, not only over email
  • Background in business, marketing, communications, biology, or nutrition
  • Familiarity with CRM or outreach tools such as HubSpot, Apollo, or similar

Desired attributes

  • Entrepreneurial, self starting, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Resilient in the face of non responses and rejection, which are the normal texture of this work
  • Works efficiently without compromising quality, attentive to detail while holding the bigger picture
  • Collaborative, community focused, and operating with empathy

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?

This role is based in our New York City headquarters in the West Village and Soho area, with hybrid flexibility.

Interns at FitBiomics are part of the team. Your ideas will be heard, your contributions valued, and you will leave with skills and a portfolio of real commercial outcomes. There is a strong chance of full time employment following the internship: FitBiomics intends its first dedicated BD/GTM hire to come from this cohort.

The future of fitness is whatever our generation decides it will be. We are committed to creating next generation probiotics that help people live healthy, active lives. If that resonates, we would like to hear from you.
