Critical Process Solutions R&D Co-op

Eligibility Requirements: 

Applicants must be able to work onsite in Northborough, MA for the full 6-month co-op assignment and be actively pursuing a related MS or PhD degree throughout the co-op period. 

We are preferably seeking candidates available to start as soon as possible (Fall/Winter 2026) and continue through early 2027.  Candidates available to begin in early 2027 may also be considered for an assignment through mid-2027.

Location: Northborough, MA

Required: In-person, on-site

 

Why Do We Need You?

Job Summary:

Join our Critical Process Solutions team and gain hands-on experience in a diverse R&D environment. In this role, the Co-op will support R&D development on several strategic Industrial and Consumer Solutions projects.  The work will include hands-on laboratory testing, data analysis, reporting, and independent research as needed.

Responsibilities

The candidate will conduct hands-on laboratory testing for several important, strategic projects.  The work will include material compatibility studies, coating and lamination studies, aging studies of polymer samples, and post-mortem analysis of failed product samples. The candidate will be expected to synthesize their data collection into reports for management review and for proper record keeping.  The candidate is also expected to propose subsequent testing or materials screening based on prior test results.

Job Requirements:

Must be actively enrolled in a graduate degree program (MS or PhD) in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or other related disciplines. 

  • Hands-on laboratory experience and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work safely and independently in the laboratory following all policies and procedures
  • Effective oral and written communication of experimental procedures and results
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative research and development environment
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to learn new laboratory techniques and processes.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety in all work activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
