Business Unit and Position Summary:
Crane Nuclear is a Business Unit within the Process Flow Technologies Group of Crane Co, a US multi-national company which specializes in highly engineered products in niche markets. Crane Nuclear provides valves, valve parts, valve testing products, and valve maintenance/testing services to domestic and international commercial nuclear power customers. Crane Nuclear features
recognized valve brands and is an industry leader in valve diagnostic technology and valve maintenance/testing scope-based process driven services.

The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will support daily operations as well as perform independent projects to develop and recommend improvements in the
manufacturing system making processes safer, more efficient, and more productive. Development will include process improvement and optimization, production documentation, and continuous improvement.

Principle Responsibilities:

• Develop work instructions and standard operating procedures to document processes and flow.
• Assist with developing and implementing current and future state value stream maps and continuous improvement plans.
• Identify root cause and corrective actions for manufacturing problems.
• Develop and track manufacturing metrics to monitor the health of processes.
• Maintain detailed project records for all assigned projects.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Working toward a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and methods and their applications.
• Exposure to continuous improvement principles, problem solving processes, root cause analysis, etc.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles and some exposure to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Must be meticulous, motivated, organized, and outgoing.
