Part-Time Teacher — Creative Writing, Video Production & Sports Math

Kids Broadcasting Academy is seeking creative, dependable college students and recent graduates to teach engaging, project-based classes for elementary- and middle-school students in North San Diego County.

This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers to gain meaningful classroom experience while helping young people build confidence, creativity, communication skills, and practical academic knowledge.

Teachers may lead one or more of the following programs:

• Creative Writing: Help students develop characters, plots, dialogue, and original stories while discovering their individual voices.

• Video Production: Teach students how to develop news stories, conduct interviews, use cameras, present on screen, and create short video projects.

• Sports Math: Make math engaging through sports statistics, fantasy teams, budgets, business concepts, investing, and real-world decision-making.

Curriculum, lesson ideas, materials, and ongoing guidance are provided. Teachers do not need to be experts in all three subjects and may apply to teach the program that best matches their interests and experience.

This position offers aspiring educators the opportunity to:

Ideal candidates are:

• Current college students or recent graduates studying education, child development, English, creative writing, communications, journalism, film, media, mathematics, business, statistics, sports management, or a related subject
• Positive, patient, dependable, and well organized
• Confident communicating with groups of young people
• Able to make students feel welcomed, encouraged, and involved
• Available for scheduled weekday classes
• Willing to commit through the semester
• Able to travel reliably to class locations in North San Diego County

Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, coaching, childcare, camp counseling, mentoring, or youth programs is helpful but not required. We are especially interested in responsible future educators who bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a genuine desire to help students grow.

Schedule: Part-time; one-hour weekday classes
Location: North San Diego County
Compensation: $40 per one-hour class, with curriculum and instructional support provided
Commitment: School Year (two semesters)
