About the Role
We are looking for an organized, analytical, and highly motivated Project Management Intern to support important initiatives across TBD Investors’ portfolio companies.
Our companies are opening locations, entering markets, integrating acquisitions, launching services, building teams, implementing technology, and developing systems that can support continued growth.
You may work primarily with one portfolio company or support projects involving several businesses. Each intern will be assigned defined workstreams, measurable objectives, and a primary manager.
This is not an observational internship. You will be expected to bring structure to open-ended problems, coordinate stakeholders, follow projects through to completion, and produce work that companies can actually use.
What You’ll Do
Depending on portfolio needs and your experience, responsibilities may include:
Developing project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables
Coordinating projects involving operating leaders, clinicians, employees, vendors, and outside partners
Preparing agendas, presentations, meeting materials, notes, and follow-up items
Tracking responsibilities and ensuring that projects remain on schedule
Conducting research and translating findings into clear recommendations
Building dashboards and reporting tools to monitor progress
Identifying risks, unresolved questions, and operational bottlenecks
Documenting processes and creating repeatable operating playbooks
Supporting strategic planning and monthly operating reviews
Helping portfolio companies manage special projects that cross multiple departments
Communicating progress clearly to company leadership and other stakeholders
Example Projects
Projects could include:
Coordinating the opening of a new pediatric therapy, behavioral-health, or medical location
Managing a workstream related to the integration of a newly acquired business
Building a project-management system for a rapidly growing multi-location company
Coordinating a technology or reporting-system implementation
Developing a launch plan for a new service, market, or customer initiative
Supporting a company-wide recruiting, marketing, or operational-improvement project
Helping an essential-services company document and standardize its operating processes
Coordinating an initiative involving several TBD Investors portfolio companies
Who Should Apply
We welcome undergraduate and graduate students from a wide range of academic backgrounds, including:

Other related disciplines
Prior project-management or industry experience is helpful but not required. We care more about initiative, organization, communication, judgment, and the ability to take ownership.
Strong candidates will be:
Highly organized and attentive to detail
Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong analytical thinkers and problem solvers
Clear writers and communicators
Able to coordinate people with different priorities and perspectives
Comfortable bringing structure to ambiguous projects
Proactive about identifying problems and proposing solutions
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Dependable and willing to follow projects through to completion
What You’ll Gain
Ownership of meaningful projects with measurable business outcomes
Experience working with rapidly growing companies across several industries
Exposure to multi-location expansion, acquisition integration, strategic planning, and operating improvement
Direct interaction with CEOs and other portfolio-company leaders
Experience turning complex, open-ended problems into structured workplans
A portfolio-quality project or operating deliverable
