Wetland Permitting Specialist

Goddard Consulting, LLC is looking for a qualified and motivated individual looking to grow their careers within the environmental science and wetland permitting field. We are seeking qualified candidates who have a BS in Biology, Ecology, Wildlife Biology, Plant/Soil Sciences or other related environmental sciences. Strong background in technical writing is preferred. Based in Northborough or Palmer, Massachusetts.

Qualified individuals should be highly organized, motivated, and detail oriented. Applicants should be highly skilled in technical writing and communication (verbally and written). This position will focus specifically on writing and filing permits under the Massachusetts’s Wetland Protection Act, and Massachusetts Conservation Commission bylaws as well as working on MEPA and other environmental permits. Other tasks may include writing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, Wetland Replication Plans, Regulatory Analyses, Invasive Species Management Plans, etc.

This job is a full-time position with 80% of the time being allotted to in office work for permitting/writing and 20% for site visits/site inspections. This may require working alone, in remote areas, on construction sites.

Minimum Requirements and Education: Bachelor’s Degree in English/Communications or Environmental Science or other related disciplines.

Minimum 0 – 3 years of applicable environmental experience.

Valid US Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

-General knowledge of basic environmental sciences.

-Proficiency in standard office suite software applications.

-Ability to demonstrate professional demeanor in written and verbal communications with clients, regulatory officials, and coworkers

-Ability to write and to convey complex thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner.

-Ability to learn through on-the-job experience.

-Ability to work independently, both in an office environment and in the field.

-Ability to travel locally throughout the State of Massachusetts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $40,000.00 per year
