Sales Associate
The Sales Associate is responsible for, but not limited to, all areas outlined below. The right individual will have interest in skiing. This position can either be seasonal for the winter season, or year-round with cross-training. This position could be full-time or part-time, depending on the individual needs of the applicant. The compensation is both hourly and commission. As the face of this organization, this role is the most instrumental to our number-one goal: providing the best customer experience possible. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual that takes pride in their work, is a team player, and has great inter-personal skills. All duties below: customer service, sales, technical ability, and supporting tasks equally play integral parts of the customer experience. Job experience is not necessary; the right candidate will be trained in the following areas:

Description & Remarks
Customer Service
Provide the best possible customer experience by:
- Promptly greeting customers as they enter and exit the store
- Building rapport with customers by conversing about events, shared interests, etc. This industry does attract regular clientele.
- Maintaining an upbeat, enthusiastic, friendly, and professional demeanor always
- Occasionally deal effectively with an unsatisfied customer
- Arriving to work in appropriate attire that reflects our brand
- Watching for security risks/theft
Sales
Sales duties include:
- Asking customers questions to get understanding of their buying needs
- Providing the customer two or three options that would fit their needs
- Product knowledge: identify features, advantages, and benefits of options provided
- Assisting the customer in the decision process.
- Following up sales with providing information about return policies and aftercare of their products
- Tracking sales and maintaining sales records
- Processing the sale through point of sale software, which includes the handling of cash and credit transactions
Technical Knowledge/Ability
Technical duties include:
- Assisting customers with ski and snowboard repairs (checking in product, filling out paperwork, recommending repair services
- Installing bindings on new products
- Fitting customers to the proper sizes as well as skier ability
- Adjusting ski and snowboard rental equipment to meet customer needs
- Optional: ski and snowboard tuning and repairs

Secondary / Supporting Tasks
Effective use of downtime including:
Cleaning
- Cleaning building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, steam-cleaning, or vacuuming.
- Gathering and emptying trash
- Servicing, cleaning, and supplying restrooms
- Washing windows and mirrors
- Dusting furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
Merchandising
- Maintaining the clothing, accessories and hardgoods including refacing, organizing, and ensuring everything is neat and organized
- Making suggestions and taking initiative on merchandising projects
- Restocking product nightly from the basement inventory
Inventory Management
- Periodically taking inventory counts to ensure accurate product balances
- Receiving in inventory into our point of sale software
- Accurately pricing inventory
