Investigative Researcher - Hybrid

We are a P.I. firm specializing in investigative research and background check investigations. We are searching for professionals with strong research, analytical, and computer skills. Strong PC user, internet navigation, database research, and critical thinking skills are required, as well as professional behavior, reliability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.

This position is an entry-level role and entails:

  • Conducting research using public records, online resources, court records, and proprietary databases
  • Reviewing information for completeness, accuracy, and relevance
  • Verifying and cross-referencing information from multiple sources
  • Identifying missing, conflicting, or inaccurate information and resolving discrepancies
  • Following up with internal and external sources to obtain required information
  • Documenting research findings clearly and accurately
  • Assisting with background check investigations and investigative research projects
  • Adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintaining confidentiality, data integrity, and professional standards

Experience We Consider a PLUS for This Position:

  1. Legal office experience or knowledge of dockets, criminal cases, court research, public records, and/or the court system. Know the difference between a plea and a judgment without having been the defendant firsthand?
  2. Research experience involving public records, online databases, fact verification, due diligence, investigations, or compliance-related work.
  3. Experience with background screening, employment verification, or pre-employment investigations.
  4. FCRA and/or hiring regulations related to employment screening or background checks.
  5. Office administration and/or executive assistant experience.
  6. Experience working in deadline-driven environments where accuracy and productivity are measured.
  7. Data analysis, information gathering, report writing, or documentation experience.
  8. Prior private investigation, insurance investigation, legal research, journalism, compliance, or intelligence-related experience.

We operate Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and require the Researcher to work full-time during our open office hours. While we will allow reliable individuals to work REMOTE, you must be willing to COMMUTE TO OUR OFFICE DURING TRAINING (approximately 3-4 weeks) and periodically for ongoing training.

Compensation: $15 to $20 per hour (based on experience) + benefits
