General Description
The Development Manager is responsible for assisting the Development Director with all of CASA of Southwest Missouri’s fundraising, which allows us to achieve our mission and maximize our impact in the community with the long-term goal of serving every child in foster care in Greene, Christian, and Taney Counties with the highest quality advocacy. The Development Manager is a full-time position that reports to the Development Director.
Status: Full-time position FLSA: Non-exempt (hourly)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Development:
- Assist in creation and implementation of the annual development plan with goals derived from established strategic plan and budgeted objectives.
- Help implement donor stewardship activities, recognition steps, and communications to support CASA’s long-term relationship with existing donors and build relationships with new donors.
- Maintain, update, and manage the fundraising database / CRM system to track donor interactions, pipelines, and giving histories.
- Generate regular giving reports, retention metrics, and database analytics to evaluate overall fundraising health.
- Generate new ideas that increase revenue and improve donor loyalty.
- Assist the Development Director in coordinating special events, working with committees, soliciting, and securing sponsorships, and more.
- Facilitate one-time events that support CASA’s mission and outreach goals.
- Recruit, train, and support key volunteers to assist in development efforts.
Marketing:
- Design and develop targeted campaign materials, including donor appeals, sponsorship packets, and event-specific print/digital graphics.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and other computer programs.
- Coordinate with the Community Engagement Manager to ensure centralized brand alignment across public marketing and fundraising-specific initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience, preferably in marketing, communications, public relations, or other development related field.
- Experience in development and database fundraising software.
- Experience with digital and print graphic design.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and the ability to learn and use various database software.
- Experience and skills with persuasive communication in a variety of formats.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Skilled at building relationships through in-person, phone, and email approaches.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Successfully complete criminal background check and child abuse background check.
- Commitment to CASA’s goals, mission, and values.
Work Environment:
The job takes place in an office setting at the CASA of Southwest Missouri location in Springfield. This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. It may require you to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time interchangeably due to the essential duties. The employee may also travel between the office and the three-county service area, other corporate offices, non-profit agencies, and event locations. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
Must be able to work weekends and evenings, as required. Flexibility in work schedule is provided.
