Inservice Coordinator

INSERVICE COORDINATOR

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop and Conduct Classes: Design and teach monthly or annual or as-needed in-service education sessions for nurses, aides, and support staff. Typically requested instructional topics include CADD Pump use and maintenance, med pass, patient safety, infection control.
  • Manage Onboarding: Coordinate and lead orientation programs for all new facilities.
  • Ensure Compliance: Track mandatory training requirements, including OSHA safety guidelines, infection control protocols, and patient privacy laws.
  • Track Records: Maintain accurate documentation, attendance logs, and results for training file.
  • Identify Needs: Assess pharmacy gaps through quality improvement reports, incident reviews, and direct observation rounds. Effectively communicate shortfalls and positive feedback to your Pharmacy team.
  • Organize and Coordinate Vaccine Clinics, request appropriate dosing of medications needed to conduct vaccine clinics in healthcare facilities. Injections and administrative work required.
  • Assist or conduct Med Room checks for expired medications and inventory levels.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Active RN License: Current, unencumbered state license.
  • Experience: Typically, 1 to 3 years of general or acute nursing experience (specialty experience like hospice or home health preferred).
  • Autonomous Critical Thinking: Ability to assess and make sound clinical judgments independently.
  • Reliable Transport: Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and dependable vehicle for field visits.
  • CPR Certification: Current basic life support certification. 

Hours & Schedule

  • Inservice training can be scheduled in agreement with facility needs
  • This is position that can be developed.      The more relatable and requested topics that are developed for in service training will set the number of hours this position will work.  The Pharmacy will be the lead in to communicating availability with the facilities.
