Marketing/Accounting Intern

Job Summary:

The Marketing/Accounting Intern provides essential support to the firm’s managing attorney, Karine Sokpoh, and administrative staff by assisting with financial recordkeeping, managing digital marketing initiatives, and supporting day-to-day operations. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in both legal business management and professional marketing within a fast-paced law firm environment.

Work Hours:

The Marketing/Accounting intern will preferably be able to work part-time during the school year and may work full time during the summer. This position can have flexible work hours to accommodate class schedules and academic commitments.

Pay: The starting pay for the Marketing/Accounting Intern is $15 - $18/hour.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with developing and executing the firm’s social media presence across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Create, edit, and optimize photo and video content for social channels; comfortable being on camera when required for promotional or educational firm content.
  • Conduct research regarding current immigration and business law developments, trends, and marketing opportunities.
  • Assist with basic accounting tasks, expense tracking, billing support, and general administrative duties as assigned.
  • Assist attorneys and other staff members with operational and clerical tasks as needed.
  • Manage assigned projects and day-to-day tasks efficiently while working independently.
  • Prioritize and maintain strict client confidentiality across all business and marketing materials.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Excellent work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with Canva, Clio, Workforce, CapCut, and other video editing software.
  • Comfortable being on camera and creating video content for social media.
  • The ability to speak a foreign language, such as French or Spanish is preferred..
  • Prior experience or coursework in marketing, accounting, or a legal office setting is preferred but not required.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current enrollment in or recent completion of an associate or bachelor’s degree program in Marketing, Accounting, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
