MACHINIST INTERN

Location: [North Houston, Texas] | Type: Part-time/Intern | Shift: [Mon-Fri 8 a.m. – 4
p.m.]
Pay: [17-20] / hour (Based on experience/qualifications)

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Machinist Intern to join our production team. You will
work alongside experienced machinists to learn standard machine setup, operation,
quality control, and shop safety procedures. Petroleum Oil Tools manufactures and
repairs Oil and Gas equipment, and is API licensed to certify existing equipment. Learn
more than just machining and gain valuable work experience in the process.

Key Responsibilities
- Operation: Load raw materials, run CNC mills and lathes, and debur finished
parts.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
against blueprints.
- Maintenance: Perform basic routine machine maintenance and clean shop floor
work areas.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior machinist to learn blueprint reading,
machine setups, and proper techniques to build the foundation for a promising
career..

What We’re Looking For
- Education: Current trade school or college level student seeking a degree or
certificate in Machining or Manufacturing.
- Skills: Basic mechanical aptitude, strong math skills, and ability to read
measuring tools.
- Mindset: Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and eager to learn.

- Physical: Ability to lift up to [50 lbs] and stand for extended periods.
