As a teacher with WCPS, you will create an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment; deliver high-quality instruction aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning and division curriculum; and build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues to support student success.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction that supports student learning and growth.
• Differentiate instruction and use a variety of teaching strategies, technology, and resources to meet diverse student needs.
• Assess student learning, monitor progress, maintain appropriate records, and use data to guide instruction.
• Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, respectful, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with students and encourage engagement, confidence, and academic success.
• Provide appropriate supervision and support the safety and well-being of students.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with students, families, colleagues, administrators, and support staff.
• Maintain confidentiality, professional standards, and appropriate boundaries with students.
• Participate in professional learning and contribute positively to the school and division community.
• Maintain applicable licensure requirements and follow WCPS policies and state and federal requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the building administrator.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or anticipated completion of a bachelor’s degree prior to the position start date.
• Hold, be eligible for, or be willing to pursue an appropriate Virginia teaching license or approved pathway to licensure.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment and helping all students succeed.
• Ability to meet applicable WCPS employment, background check, and Virginia licensure requirements.
