Marketing Intern
About BuildinBlock
BuildinBlock is a mentorship marketplace built for students navigating some of the most important transitions in their academic and professional journeys. We connect students with mentors who have recently achieved the goals they're working toward—from getting into top universities to landing competitive internships and jobs.
We believe that the most valuable advice doesn't always come from someone with decades of experience. Often, it's someone who was in your shoes just a year or two ago. BuildinBlock makes that recent, relevant expertise accessible and affordable to students.
About the Role
We're looking for a Marketing & Strategy Intern to help us grow BuildinBlock's student community. As an early member of our marketing team, you'll focus on understanding how students discover and adopt new products, developing creative ways to reach them, and putting those ideas into practice on your campus.
You'll have significant freedom to experiment. This could mean creating social content, partnering with student organizations, engaging with campus communities, running grassroots campaigns, or coming up with entirely new ways to introduce BuildinBlock to students. You'll work closely with the founding team, test different approaches, and learn firsthand what drives user acquisition at an early-stage startup.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute creative strategies for reaching students on your campus
- Create social media content, posters, flyers, and other marketing materials
- Introduce BuildinBlock to relevant student communities and organizations
- Identify online and offline channels where students are most likely to engage
- Experiment with different messaging, campaigns, and acquisition strategies
- Build awareness and drive new student signups through your campus network
- Gather feedback from students and share insights that can inform our broader marketing strategy
- Work directly with the founding team to brainstorm and evaluate new growth opportunities
What You'll Gain
- Hands-on experience in startup marketing and user acquisition
- Practical experience developing and executing growth strategies
- Experience running real campaigns and measuring their results
- Direct exposure to early-stage startup strategy and decision-making
- The opportunity to take ownership of projects rather than simply completing assigned tasks
- A chance to see how marketing ideas translate into actual users and business growth
