Next.js Website Manager
Next.js Website Redesign & Ongoing Website Manager
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Next.js developer with strong UI/UX skills to redesign, improve, and help manage our existing website.
The website is already built, but we need someone who can evaluate the current design and code, improve the overall user experience, fix responsive-layout problems, and make the site look more professional and consistent across desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile devices.
This is not just a one-time design project. We are interested in finding someone who can potentially become our ongoing website developer/manager after the redesign is completed.
Responsibilities include:
- Review and audit the existing Next.js website and codebase
- Redesign pages to create a cleaner, modern, professional appearance
- Improve UI/UX, spacing, typography, navigation, buttons, sections, and visual hierarchy
- Fix responsive-design problems on MacBook/laptop, desktop, tablet, and mobile screens
- Make sure sections do not appear oversized or improperly scaled on larger screens
- Improve consistency between pages
- Optimize website speed, performance, and image loading
- Identify and fix frontend bugs
- Maintain clean, organized, scalable Next.js/React code
- Make future content and design updates as needed
- Help manage website functionality after launch
- Troubleshoot technical problems when they occur
- Work with existing integrations and APIs when necessary
- Communicate clearly about problems, solutions, timelines, and recommendations
- Provide guidance on how the website should be maintained going forward
Required skills:
- Strong Next.js experience
- React
- JavaScript/TypeScript
- HTML/CSS
- Responsive web design
- UI/UX implementation
- Mobile-first development
- Git/GitHub
- API integration
- Website performance optimization
- Debugging and troubleshooting
Experience managing an existing production website is strongly preferred.
We want someone who can look at the website critically and recommend improvements, not simply make changes exactly as instructed. We value developers who can identify problems we may have overlooked and suggest better solutions.
Please include:
- Examples of Next.js websites you have personally developed or redesigned
- Your specific role on those projects
- Experience fixing responsive-design problems
- Experience managing websites after launch
- Your availability for ongoing work
- Your estimated rate or pricing structure
- A brief explanation of how you would approach auditing an existing Next.js website before redesigning it
Important: Please do not apply if your primary experience is only WordPress, Wix, or Shopify page builders. We need someone comfortable working directly with Next.js/React code.
