YMCA Cheerleading Youth Program Instructor
Location: Arthur Jordan Branch YMCA
About the Role
Provide leadership and supervision in your assigned youth program(s) such as Cheer, Dance, Gymnastics, Tumbling, Basketball, or Soccer. Instructors may teach one or multiple programs, based on training and scheduling needs. Experience is preferred but not required, and training is provided for all assigned program areas. Create a safe, welcoming, noncompetitive environment that supports skill development and fun.
What You’ll Do
- Lead assigned activities in your specific program(s)
- Supervise participants to ensure safety
- Demonstrate basic technique relevant to your program(s)
- Communicate clearly with youth
- Inspect spaces for safety
- Support a noncompetitive environment
Qualifications
- Experience in youth sports or teaching preferred but not required
- Minimum age 16
- Basic knowledge of youth sports or movement activities is helpful but not required
- Ability to demonstrate basic technique in assigned program(s)
- Ability to communicate with preschool to middle school ages
- Ability to visually inspect space for safety
- Required certifications or ability to obtain within 90 days
