About Selk’bag

Ever wish you could leave the house without leaving your sleeping bag?

That’s basically why we exist.

Selk’bag is the original wearable sleeping bag. It’s outdoor gear turned lifestyle product, made for camping, festivals, road trips, cold mornings, couch hangs, football games and pretty much anywhere being ridiculously comfortable sounds like a good idea.

We’ve been featured by The New York Times, Good Morning America, The Today Show and others, and our product has a habit of going viral organically.

We sell our unique bags in 10+ countries around the world and present in retailers like REI, TJ Maxx and others.

Now we want someone to help us take that much further.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a highly creative, social-native person to own Selk’bag’s TikTok and Instagram presence.

We don't need someone to simply fill a content calendar.

We want someone who sees a Selk’bag and immediately thinks:

“I have 10 ideas for this.”

Our inspiration comes from brands like Duolingo and Nutter Butter. Not because we want to copy them, but because they’ve built recognizable personalities, take creative risks and make content people actually want to follow.

We want Selk’bag to become one of those brands.

What You’ll Do

• Own our TikTok and Instagram creative strategy
• Concept, script, film, edit and publish short-form content
• Develop recurring formats, jokes, characters and social experiments
• React quickly to trends, comments and cultural moments
• Engage with our community in Selk’bag’s voice
• Turn launches, products and partnerships into social-first ideas
• Work with creators and UGC when needed
• Track what works, learn from it and make more of it
• Create approximately 3–5 original videos per week

Who We’re Looking For

You’re creative, funny, resourceful and deeply tuned into internet culture.

You understand why people stop, watch, comment and share, and you can take an idea from concept to published content without needing someone to hold your hand.

You don’t need 10 years of social media experience.

We’re open to an exceptional recent graduate, emerging creator or early-career talent with great instincts and original ideas.

We care much more about what you can create than how impressive your résumé looks.

Creating Content

San Diego is preferred because you’ll have access to our team, products and filming opportunities.

Remote candidates are absolutely welcome, but you must be able to create, not just manage.

That might mean appearing on camera, filming yourself, recruiting friends or local talent, working with creators, or directing UGC remotely.

We’ll send you the Selk’bags.

You bring the ideas.

What Success Looks Like

During your first 90 days, we’d expect you to:

• Establish a recognizable social voice and creative direction for Selk’bag

• Develop and test several repeatable content formats

• Create approximately three to five original short-form videos per week

• Build a consistent and responsive community-management rhythm

• Increase shares, watch time, comments and meaningful audience engagement

• Identify Selk’bag’s strongest creative territories and opportunities for virality

• Develop a roadmap for scaling the channel and its content production

How to Apply

Skip the generic cover letter.

Send us:

  1. A quick intro and why Selk’bag caught your attention
  2. Links to content or accounts you’ve created, appeared in or managed
  3. Three Selk’bag content ideas you’d want to test immediately
  4. One brand you think is killing it on social and why
  5. If you’re remote, how you’d create original Selk’bag content
  6. Your availability and preferred working arrangement

If you look at a wearable sleeping bag and immediately start thinking about what you could do with it, we want to hear from you.
