Social Media Operations Intern

Social Media Operations Intern

Remote | Fall 2026 | 12 Weeks | 20 hrs/week | Class Credit

About Scout

Scout is an early-stage shopping app built on a simple belief: people already know what they want. We're not here to tell you what to buy — we're here to help you figure out the best time and way to buy it. Think of us as the smartest friend you have who happens to know everything about deals, timing, and value. We're building tools that work for shoppers, not brands.

Pairs with the Content Creation & UGC Intern — that role makes the content; this role runs the channels.

What You'll Do

  • Own Scout's posting operations — schedule and publish across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts on a consistent cadence
  • Run community management: reply to comments and DMs in Scout's voice, surface product feedback to the team
  • Track performance in our social dashboard — what's working, what's not, what to make more of
  • Adapt and cross-post content between platforms (hooks, captions, formats differ — you know this)
  • Coordinate the content calendar with our UGC creator and the founder
  • Spot trends early and flag them while they're still rising

Who You Are

  • Currently enrolled in a Marketing, Communications, Media, or related program
  • Chronically online in the useful way — you know why a video worked
  • You've run a social account (brand, club, or your own) and grown it
  • Reliable on cadence: consistency beats virality, and you post on schedule
  • Self-directed and comfortable in an early-stage environment where requirements evolve
  • Eligible to receive academic credit through your university

What You'll Learn

How to run social as a system — cadence, analytics, and community — rather than hoping for a viral hit. You'll see exactly how content drives app installs.

This Role Is Perfect For You If...

You want to run a brand's social presence end to end with real growth numbers attached to your name — not just make content and hand it off.

What You'll Get

  • Academic credit (we'll work with your school)
  • Channel growth numbers you can point to — portfolio work
  • Direct mentorship from a founder with deep experience in consumer tech and digital commerce
  • A front-row seat to building a consumer startup from the ground up
