Job Functions 

  • Become proficient in understanding agricultural commodities markets 
  • Develop and maintain a sales pipeline of qualified leads 
  • Teach prospects and customers about our grain marketing system
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts 

Overview

Entry level Business Development Managers will learn all aspects of the sales function including telephone skills, branding tools, market analysis and sales strategy in a commodity driven environment. 

Successful candidates will have an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to work in an environment where they are responsible for setting and attaining their own goals. 

This is primarily a sales role, but our business is a relationship-oriented business. The most successful candidates will have a strong ability to actively listen, understand, and relate with customer needs. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in agricultural business preferred but not required; Communications, Business and other majors can also be successful 

• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above 

• Must enjoy working in an office environment, spending hours on the phone learning the market while teaching the company strategy to U.S. farmers

• Must be internally motivated and able to work independently 

• Work experience involving customer relations is a plus, but not required

• Successful completion of the Series 3 trading exam within 1 year of completing the training program 

Compensation

This position offers a base salary of $48,000.00-$60,000.00 per year plus commissions. A representative meeting minimum satisfactory expectations can expect to earn an additional $24,000+ per year in commissions.
