Actuarial Analyst

Actuarial Analyst – Life (Entry-Level) 
[Remote or Hybrid/In-Office (Dallas, Overland Park)]

Base Salary: $65,000 - $80,000/year 

You Will: 

As an Analyst within L&E’s Life practice, you will work with and learn from L&E’s industry experts and experienced consultants in support of a wide range of projects. You will also support a variety of internal initiatives in support of our life actuarial consulting practice.  

Potential projects will include: 

  • Model development and optimization projects on leading Actuarial platforms, including FIS Insurance Risk Suite (Prophet), Moody's Analytics AXIS, Aon PathWise, Stoch Analytics ATLAS, and Akur8 Slope 
  • Appointed Actuary support, valuation, and asset adequacy testing for one of the many life and annuity insurers and reinsurers for which Lewis & Ellis are the Appointed Actuary 
  • Mergers & Acquisitions due diligence 
  • Valuation and pricing support engagements 
  • Large-scale transformation and model conversion projects 
  • Assumption development and experience studies 
  • Development of internal tools, resources, and intellectual capital 
  • Support for marketing, surveys, and client and industry presentations 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field 
  • Passed Exam P and/or FM, or actively working toward them 
  • Commitment to attaining an ASA with the Society of Actuaries, or equivalent 
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills 
  • Strong Excel skills. Comfortable working with data and models 
  • Energetic, motivated, team player 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Track record of academic achievement with strong desire to learn and grow
