Creative Shopify Developer

Creative Shopify Developer - Independent Streetwear & Lifestyle Brand (Brooklyn)

job title: Creative Shopify Developer - Streetwear Brand

ourplus1life is a physical design studio moving quickly into new product lines, where imagination, experimentation, and original methodology matter more to us than technical perfection.

With a history of developing concepts, products, and real-world experiences for brands and platforms both major and independent, we’re interested in people who believe culture is built through community, physical connection, and creating things meant to last.

We’re looking for a **Shopify Developer** to help complete an existing e-commerce site for an independent streetwear project. The site is approximately **80% complete**, and we’re looking for someone who can step into the existing build, understand what’s already in place, and finish the remaining development and refinement without disrupting the current code, functionality, or design direction.

The site includes custom functionality beyond Shopify’s standard themes and templates, but nothing that requires development outside the Shopify ecosystem. Experience modifying existing Shopify builds and working with **Liquid, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript** is strongly preferred.

There may also be some light visual and graphic work involved. Photoshop or advanced photo-editing skills are **not required**, but ideally you’re comfortable arranging, cropping, formatting, or making basic edits to photographed assets so they integrate naturally into the site.

**Shopify development experience is the priority.** Experience with streetwear, fashion, independent brands, creative e-commerce, or NYC culture is a strong plus. We’re specifically looking for someone who can understand and work within the visual language of the brand rather than approach the project as a generic e-commerce website.

Please send:

* A brief introduction
* Resume or relevant experience
* Portfolio or examples of websites you’ve built or worked on
* Examples of graphic or visual design work, if applicable
* Your general availability
* Your preferred project or hourly rate

This is initially a **project-based freelance position**, with the potential for additional work. If we work well together, there may also be an opportunity to help develop the brand’s main website and further projects.

**NYC-based developers are preferred, but not required.**
