Position Title: Americorps Career Readiness Specialist

Position Summary:The Career Readiness Specialist plays a critical role in helping students connect their academic journey to long-term career goals. This position provides individualized coaching, supports families with financial aid navigation, and guides students in exploring potential career pathways. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping students envision and achieve their future success.

Core Responsibilities:

• Coach students on aligning college selection and applications with long-term career goals.
• Guide families through FAFSA/CSS completion and financial aid navigation.
• Provide one-on-one mentoring to help students identify and pursue potential career pathways.
• Collaborate with staff to connect students with relevant internships, workshops, and career exploration opportunities.
• Conduct regular outreach to remind students about upcoming programs, application deadlines, internships, workshops, and other career-related opportunities.
• Support students in researching careers, educational requirements, salaries, workplace expectations, and opportunities for advancement.
• Maintain accurate and timely student records, notes, and program data.
• Collaborate closely with program staff to identify student needs, coordinate services, and ensure students receive consistent support.
• Develop relationships with businesses, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and other employers to expand career exposure and internship opportunities for students.
• Participate in evening and weekend student programs, career events, and family meetings as needed.
