Crime Scene Unit Team Leader
A highly specialized forensic position within the Kent County Sheriff's Office, focusing on leading the Crime Scene Unit (CSU) Specialists. The primary responsibilities of this position include assessing and addressing the training needs of the CSU staff, and ensuring their ongoing professional development through selected courses pertinent to their field. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for assigning specialists to particular cases, scrutinizing their methodology and reports, and appraising the performance of subordinate staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Physics, Medical Technology, Forensic Anthropology, Engineering, or a similar natural science field.
Experience: Four years of progressively responsible experience in evidence collection, crime scene investigation, and laboratory analysis; experience in supervision and training is also necessary.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
