Legislative Intern
The program consists of an 18 to 19-week structured internship designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to New York State government, legislative processes, and regulatory advocacy. Interns will support client-focused research and advocacy efforts, attend trainings and key government events, and develop policy memos and bill analyses. Weekly themes guide learning, covering topics such as the Executive Budget, the Legislature, state agencies, regulatory processes, lobbying strategies, and local government. Interns will gain hands-on experience in tracking legislation, analyzing policy impacts, engaging with stakeholders, and supporting advocacy campaigns. The internship culminates in a final portfolio showcasing completed work.
