Exercise Physiologist

New Viva MD – Chandler, Arizona
Part-Time / Full-Time

New Viva MD is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to join our medical wellness team. This position will work closely with our physicians and clinical staff to help patients improve their health through safe, individualized exercise and lifestyle programs.

Responsibilities

Perform fitness and functional assessments for patients.
Develop individualized exercise programs based on medical history, fitness level, and health goals.
Work with patients undergoing medical weight-loss and metabolic health programs.
Help patients preserve and build lean muscle while losing weight.
Provide exercise guidance for patients using GLP-1 medications.
Develop programs focused on strength, cardiovascular fitness, mobility, and long-term weight maintenance.
Educate patients on physical activity, behavior change, and healthy lifestyle habits.
Track patient progress and adjust exercise recommendations as needed.
Collaborate with physicians, dietitians, and other members of the clinical team.
Document assessments, recommendations, and patient progress appropriately.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
Knowledge of exercise prescription, cardiovascular fitness, strength training, and body composition.
Strong communication and patient-education skills.
Comfortable working with patients who may have obesity, metabolic conditions, or chronic health concerns.
ACSM, ACE, NSCA, or similar certification preferred.
CPR/BLS certification preferred.
