Business & Inspection Intern – The Glass Market
Location: New York City
Start Date: Immediate
Type: Paid Internship (Potential to convert into ongoing part-time or full-time role)
About The Glass Market
The Glass Market, Ltd. is building the digital backbone of the window, door, and glass industry — modernizing workflows from quoting and delivery through inspection, service, and sign-off. We’re a fast-moving, early-stage startup where technical field operations meet product development, data, and business strategy.
About the Role
We’re seeking a Business & Inspection Intern who wants to learn both sides of a high-growth SaaS + field-operations startup.
This internship blends:
(1) Real-world site inspection work — supporting the Head of Inspections with field visits, documentation, and quality processes.
(2) Business & strategy work — supporting go-to-market strategy, analytics, operations, financial modelling, and investor-facing materials.
Perfect for someone who is:
An MBA or MBA-track student
A technical/operations-minded business student
A future founder interested in how physical and digital systems are built together
What You’ll Do – Field & Operations
Attend property site visits to observe and support window & door inspections.
Capture photos, measurements, and notes to help build inspection reports.
Support creation of standardized checklists, workflows, and quality protocols.
Assist with communication between homeowners, contractors, and project managers.
Help test inspection features in the TGM platform and provide structured feedback to the product team.
What You’ll Do – Business, Strategy & Analytics
Build with AI. Ship internal tools, automations and feature prototypes using Claude Code — across our inspection portal, native mobile field app and white-labelled partner dealer portals.
Automate the workflow. Design and maintain sequences in Zapier, Brevo and our APIs: order feeds, onboarding emails, notification triggers, report-ready alerts.
Model the numbers. Build Excel models for pricing, volumes, customer LTV and revenue forecasting, and analyse inspection data for trends, bottlenecks and efficiency gains.
Handle the data layer. Read a Supabase/Bubble/Prisma schema, trace how tables connect, spot what's missing, and confirm a change didn't break anything downstream.
Test what ships. Write test scripts, run structured QA on web and mobile, and file bug tickets precise enough to act on without a follow-up call.
Make the case. Prepare decks for leadership, partners and investors, plus market sizing, segmentation and competitive analysis when we enter something new.
Operate several businesses at once. Inspections, a building-products dealer portal, and go-to-market consulting — switching context cleanly and documenting each process so it's repeatab
Who You Are
Curious, proactive, and excited about both field work and business strategy.
Strong with Excel and financial modelling (or eager to learn fast).
Comfortable with PowerPoint / Google Slides and can create clean, logical decks.
Strong communicator with the confidence to interact with customers, contractors, and team members.
Tech-savvy: comfortable with mobile apps, documentation tools, and startup software.
Detail-oriented — you notice patterns, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Interest in construction, architecture, engineering, operations, or SaaS is a big plus but not required.
What You’ll Learn
How real inspections are conducted — end-to-end.
The fundamentals of window & door systems (enough to become dangerous).
How to write detailed, photo-backed inspection reports.
How to build a GTM strategy from scratch inside a startup.
How to model pricing, margins, and operational capacity.
How field insights translate into product improvements.
How early-stage SaaS companies build repeatable processes.
How to collaborate across product, operations, sales, and leadership teams.
