Myers School of Art - Ceramic Student Assistant

The Ceramic Student Assistant is responsible for maintaining the ceramic studio areas, including the kiln room and glaze lab. Light cleaning and organization of the ceramic areas, as well as periodic mixing of the class glazes, clay, and slips will be the primary responsibilities. The assistant will also be responsible for collection and storage of waste clay/materials and will support the instructors and studio technician with kiln firings. Occasionally a special project may be completed by the assistant such as making and firing test tiles.

Must be able to lift 25 pounds and previous ceramics experience is desired but not required.

All University of Akron student employees must meet the designated minimum standards as stated on the Student Employment Eligibility Chart. UA student employees must be 18 years or older at the time of their start date. Any approved remote work conducted by student employees MUST be performed within the state of Ohio.
