The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division is seeking electrical engineering, computer engineering, and related majors for potential student internship and entry-level civilian opportunities. Our engineers work alongside scientists, software developers, technicians, and other technical professionals to develop, integrate, test, and support some of the Navy’s most advanced systems.

Depending on your interests and placement, you could contribute to radar and sensor technology, fire control and targeting systems, electronic warfare, communications, embedded systems, directed energy, autonomous systems, or weapon and combat-system integration.

Potential responsibilities may include:

• Supporting the design, development, and testing of electrical or computer-based systems
• Working with radar, RF, sensors, communications, or signal-processing technologies
• Designing or evaluating circuits, printed circuit boards, embedded systems, or hardware interfaces
• Integrating hardware, firmware, and software components
• Collecting and analyzing laboratory or field-test data
• Troubleshooting equipment and recommending technical solutions
• Supporting electromagnetic compatibility and interference analysis
• Documenting designs, test results, and engineering recommendations
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary technical teams

Helpful experience may include coursework, projects, or internships involving MATLAB, Python, C/C++, microcontrollers, digital logic, circuit design, signal processing, RF, communications, or laboratory testing.

Basic eligibility:

• Current student or recent graduate in a relevant degree program
• Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• U.S. citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the position
