Substitute Teacher

Substitute Teacher: Preschool through Pre-K, with Optional Elementary, Middle School, and Specials Opportunities at Unity School

We are looking for dependable, caring, and flexible substitute teachers to join our school community. Substitute opportunities are available primarily in our Toddler through Pre-K classrooms, with the option to also substitute in Elementary, Middle School, and Specials classes based on your experience, interests, and comfort level.

Our Preschool program is Montessori based, with an emphasis on independence, hands-on learning, respectful interactions, and maintaining a calm, prepared classroom environment. Prior Montessori experience is helpful but not required. Each Preschool classroom has multiple teachers working together, so substitutes are never expected to manage a classroom on their own. Experienced staff will be there throughout the day to help with routines, answer questions, and provide guidance as needed. You do not need to know everything before you begin. Our goal is to make sure substitutes feel comfortable, supported, and confident in the classroom.

Our Kindergarten through 8th Grade program follows a traditional classroom model.

We are looking for individuals who are patient, reliable, professional, and genuinely enjoy working with children. This is a great opportunity for college students, future educators, retired teachers, or anyone interested in gaining additional classroom and teaching experience.

Schedule & Compensation

Half Day: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM | $75

Full Day: 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM | $135

Substitute opportunities are offered on an as-needed basis, making this a flexible position for individuals looking to gain experience while becoming part of a supportive school community.
