Edgebrook Farm is an NJ-based farm project providing interns with the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of a real agricultural operation. We are currently constructing animal housing (including chicken coops) and agricultural habitats like raised beds for high-profile grows, alongside our completed large barn. Edgebrook Farm is seeking motivated candidates for the Construction Engineering Internship to bridge the gap between structural design and field execution.

Pay- In form of food

We are building a farm stand so there is potential for monetary payment in addition to goods.

This internship provides practical experience understanding how engineering principles, construction techniques, and temporary field structures work together. Participants will have opportunities to solve on-site engineering challenges, evaluate structural methods, and streamline assembly processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze construction methods and structural integrity for ongoing chicken coop builds.
  • Solve engineering issues on-site relating to framing, foundations, and temporary supports.
  • Evaluate structural loads and material performance for high-profile raised beds.
  • Develop step-by-step assembly guides and technical documentation for field crews.
  • Inspect ongoing work to ensure builds comply with engineering specifications and plans.
  • Identify structural optimizations to improve building speed and durability.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Standing of undergraduate sophomore or higher, or current graduate student status.
  • Interest in structural engineering, field mechanics, and hands-on fabrication.
  • Skills in structural analysis, CAD, technical problem-solving, and blueprint reading.
  • Familiarity with wood framing, foundations, or temporary structures is a plus.
