Overview: Edgebrook Farm is an NJ-based farm project providing interns with the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of a real agricultural operation. We are currently constructing animal housing (including chicken coops) and agricultural habitats like raised beds for high-profile grows, alongside our completed large barn. Edgebrook Farm is seeking motivated candidates for the Civil Engineering Internship to support projects involving land development, site grading, and water management.

Pay- In form of food

We are building a farm stand so there is potential for monetary payment in addition to goods.

This internship provides practical experience understanding how site layout, soil mechanics, and drainage systems interact within a modern farm operation. Participants will have opportunities to evaluate existing terrain, design erosion controls, and map layout expansions for future agricultural habitats.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate site topography, soil conditions, and drainage patterns for new habitats.
Design and optimize irrigation routing and storm water drainage systems for crop beds.
Assist with surveying and layout mapping for chicken coops and future animal housing.
Research sustainable land-use practices and environmental impacts of farm structures.
Develop site plans, grading layouts, and technical erosion control documentation.
Collaborate with construction teams to ensure structural layouts align with civil designs.

Qualifications:

Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Standing of undergraduate sophomore or higher, or current graduate student status.
Interest in land development, hydrology, sustainable agriculture, and structural placement.
Skills in CAD software, surveying tools, and spatial data analysis.
Knowledge of grading, hydrology, or geotechnical basics is a plus.
