Position Summary:   

 

Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) at the University at Buffalo is searching for a Systems Administrator II to utilize cutting-edge technologies and their expertise in computing and information systems to develop, manage, and support sophisticated IT services including server and cloud services. They play a pivotal role in maintaining the operational excellence of UB, recognized as the top public research university in New York and ranked among the top 40 public universities nationwide. This is a campus-based position with the possibility of hybrid-work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide on-premises and cloud IT system support, including windows servers
  • Design and implement new on-premises and cloud IT infrastructure and systems
  • Communicate professionally & effectively with teammates, management, peers, colleagues, and university constituents
  • Maintain and improve technical and professional knowledge and skills
  • Work as part of a team

Minimum Qualifications: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of experience in a computer/technical field OR master’s degree with one (1) year of experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States by their start date. The University at Buffalo does not guarantee that it will sponsor, support, or otherwise assist with obtaining work authorization.

  • Experience with windows system administration
  • Experience supporting the following technologies:
  • Azure Cloud infrastructure design and management
  • Active Directory
  • MS Entra ID
  • PKI
  • Microsoft 365 platform and services including email
  • VMWare
  • HyperV
  • Compute hardware support including HPE servers
  • Listserv
  • VEEAM backup
