Summary:
As a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op, you will support ongoing aerospace manufacturing operations and development projects. This hands-on role will provide valuable experience in applying engineering principles to real-world challenges, with a focus on zero-defect manufacturing. You will work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to develop robust manufacturing processes related to materials, tooling, fabrication, and assembly—gaining insight into the full product lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and improving technical solutions to real manufacturing challenges.
- Provide support for manufacturing development, including issue resolution related to supplier performance and product quality.
- Learn and apply root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action methods to reduce or eliminate non-conformances.
- Support implementation of tooling and production planning—helping turn concepts into production-ready solutions.
- Participate in projects involving product development, cost estimation, process documentation, and configuration updates.
- Contribute to metrics-based performance tracking aligned with manufacturing and program goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to maintain effective communication and teamwork.
- Assist with continuous improvement efforts using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Take on other engineering-related tasks as assigned, offering exposure to a wide range of experiences.

Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Industrial, Materials, or related field).
- University Classification of Sophomore or higher
- Commitment to three (3) alternating work semesters via University Career center or Cooperative Education Program
Additional Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizen preferred
- Strong academic standing and interest in manufacturing processes and aerospace technologies.
- Previous internship or hands-on project experience (school, lab, or work-related) is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to adapt to new environments and collaborate with diverse teams
- Interest in gaining experience across a variety of manufacturing settings
