Lincoln, Nebraska (Summer 2027 – Spring 2028)

About

The Nebraska Corn Board manages the corn checkoff investment by working to increase the value and sustainability of Nebraska corn through promotion, market development and research.

 

Timeframe

May 2027 – August 2027 and/or 2027-2028 School Year

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist and coordinate research & demand projects, including:
    • Attend meetings, events and seminars, capturing key points and creating summaries for internal reports or social media posts.
    • Create content for the quarterly newsletter, researching topics and conducting interviews with stakeholders.
    • Support research funding efforts, evaluating ongoing projects and reviewing new proposals.
    • Assist in identifying and exploring new research investment opportunities, gathering data to inform decisions.
    • Help build and maintain research partnerships, organizing site visits and creating outreach materials.
    • Contribute to the development of research reports and grower resources related to topics like agriculture, biofuels, and sustainability.
    • Promote biofuels and ethanol to stakeholders, highlighting their importance for industry growth.
    • Participate in marketing missions, both domestic and international, to expand market reach and create new opportunities.
    • Analyze market trends and research technologies, offering insights to guide strategic decisions in the corn and biofuel industries.
  • Internship will specialize on student’s interest and skillsets

 

Qualifications

  • Any student enrolled in a post-secondary institution located near Lincoln, Nebraska with the following qualifications: 
  • Excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate with researchers, farmers and stakeholders
  • Ag background beneficial, but not required

 

Hours Per Week

  • May – August: 40 hours/week
  • Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (some work will be on nights and weekends)
  • Late August – May: 15 – 20 hours/week (will work with student’s academic schedule)

 

Other Opportunities

  • Evening and weekend events required occasionally
  • Vehicle provided when driving required
  • Opportunity for out of state travel
