Rangeland Management Specialist: USAJOBS - Job Announcement

Summary

You will serve as a Rangeland Management Specialist performing duties that involve professional work conserving, developing, and managing public rangelands.

You may be required to travel on occasion for field work, meetings, and/or trainings. You must obtain a government charge chard for travel purposes.

Pay will vary based on grade level and/or duty location for which you're selected. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.

Duties

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:

• Provide expertise and guidance on rangeland management to staff, land users, and the public.
• Plan and carry out assessments of grazing areas and rangeland conditions.
• Review grazing permit applications to make sure they meet applicable laws and requirements.
• Lead and participate in teams that bring together experts from different fields.
• Develop, update, and plan guidance for managing grazing and rangeland resources.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between permittees and field office decision-makers.
• Oversee coordination and planning for range improvements, permit renewals, and other proposed actions.

Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
