Interlibrary Loan helps students, faculty, and researchers get the materials they need. Whether that means tracking down a book from another library or sending one of ours across the country. 

 

We’re looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and dependable. Our office is relaxed and friendly, but we take the work seriously… very seriously! Accuracy matters, deadlines matter, and every request has a purpose: a paper to finish, a project to complete, or a new idea to explore.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Dependable and punctual
  • Detail-oriented and accurate
  • Comfortable working both on a team and independently after training
  • Organized and able to manage routine tasks without constant supervision
  • Willing to learn new systems and procedures
  • Ready to contribute to a team that relies on one another

Customer service, office, or library experience is a plus, but it's not required.

What You'll Do

As an Interlibrary Loan Student Assistant, you'll help us:

  • Process incoming and outgoing Interlibrary Loan requests
  • Supply print and electronic materials to libraries around the world
  • Receive, sort, and process borrowed materials
  • Prepare shipments using UPS and the U.S. Postal Service
  • Scan and deliver electronic documents
  • Keep materials organized and moving efficiently through our workflows

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

  • Stand and move throughout the workday
  • Bend, stoop, and reach overhead
  • Lift at least 10 pounds above your head
  • Push or pull carts weighing up to 40 pounds

 

Schedule & Pay

Office Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Work Schedule: 2–4 days per week for 2–4 hours per shift during office hours. 

We’ll work with your class schedule to create a flexible schedule that fits your availability and the needs of the ILL Office. This position does not include evening or weekend shifts.

 

Starting Pay: $12.00 per hour
