Senior Research Scientist
Location: Philadelphia, PA (BioLabs Hub)Target Start Date: September 2026 (Adjusted Schedule)Compensation Range: $100,000 – $115,000 / yearCompany & Platform OverviewAbout CTIBIOTECH USA (Preclinical CRDMO): CTIBIOTECH USA, a Philadelphia-based biotech company, is a rapidly scaling Precision Medicine CRDMO. Our unique "Hybrid Engine" model bridges the gap between passive bio-storage and predictive medical science. By combining GenVault's world-class, GxP-compliant biorepository logistics with CTIBIOTECH's industrialized tissue engineering, we monetize the entire lifecycle of a biological sample. Through our core Preclinical CRDMO pillars—CTIBioSourcing™, CTISkin™, and CTIPharma™—we generate immediate cash flow and serve as a trusted R&D partner to global pharmaceutical leaders.About the CTIONCOTEST™ Project: CTIONCOTEST™ is our proprietary precision medicine platform and core valuation driver. It directly solves the critical 95% failure rate in oncology clinical trials caused by inaccurate animal models. Utilizing industrialized 3D-bioprinting and proprietary bio-inks, the platform dissociates a live patient tumor biopsy and re-assembles it into hundreds of identical, reproducible "3D micro-tumors" that perfectly mimic the human tumor microenvironment. CTIONCOTEST™ commercialization is built on three pillars: Laboratory Developed Tests (LDT), Companion Diagnostics (CDx), and Oncology CRO Services. The RoleAs our foundational scientific leader in Philadelphia, the Lead R&D Manager will spearhead the technical transfer and translation of our proprietary tissue engineering and bio-ink protocols from our global technology base into active US production pipelines. You will lead a high-throughput laboratory, driving internal assay innovation and validating custom research workflows for commercial contracts.Key Responsibilities
- Technology Transfer: Direct the local implementation and validation of advanced 3D bioprinting protocols, standardized bio-ink synthesis, and complex cell culture methodologies.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a specialized team of R&D Project Managers, providing expert scientific direction across high-throughput screening campaigns and diagnostic assays.
- Assay Innovation: Lead the internal development of novel multi-cellular models, integrating fibroblasts, vasculature, and immune cells to continually advance the physiological accuracy of our 3D micro-tumors.
- Data Integrity: Oversee rigorous data analysis, checking RNA sequencing outputs and genomic fidelity profiles to ensure our printed tissue models correlate significantly with original patient biopsies.
Qualifications
- Education: PhD in Bioengineering, Tissue Engineering, Cell Biology, or an M.S. with extensive, verified industry experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of research leadership in a commercial biotechnology, CRO, or advanced cell therapy environment.
- Competencies: Deep expertise in primary human cell expansion, automated 3D bioprinting systems, assay design (ADME-Tox), and modern genomic analysis tools.
