Weβre looking for an enthusiastic Intro to Python Instructor to introduce high school students to programming through hands-on projects, problem-solving, and real-world applications.
Students will learn the fundamentals of Python programming while building their understanding of logic, computational thinking, and how code can be used to create useful and interesting projects.
You don't need to be a professional software engineer or experienced teacher. If you have a solid foundation in Python, enjoy solving problems, and can explain programming concepts clearly and patiently, you may be a great fit.
Curriculum guidance and instructional materials are provided, giving you a structured foundation while allowing you to bring your own examples, personality, and teaching style to the classroom.
π― What You'll Do
- Lead engaging, hands-on introductory Python sessions
- Teach foundational Python programming concepts
- Introduce variables, data types, conditionals, loops, functions, and basic data structures
- Guide students through coding exercises and beginner-friendly projects
- Explain programming concepts clearly and break down complex problems into manageable steps
- Help students read, debug, and improve their code
- Encourage students to experiment, ask questions, and learn from mistakes
- Connect programming concepts to practical and real-world applications
- Adapt instruction to different skill levels and learning styles
- Encourage logical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving
- Provide constructive feedback and celebrate student progress
- Maintain a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative classroom environment
- Communicate professionally with program coordinators and school staff
- Arrive prepared, dependable, and ready to teach

You don't need to be a professional software engineer or traditional teacher. We're looking for someone who understands Python and can make programming approachable and engaging for high school students.
You may be a great fit if you have:
- Working knowledge of Python
- Experience building Python projects or using Python for school, work, or personal projects
- Ability to explain programming concepts clearly and patiently
