The Opportunity:
We are seeking dynamic, highly motivated Associate Consultant candidates to join our Washington, D.C. office in our Government Contracts and Forensic Accounting and Commercial Damages (FACD) groups.

Associate Consultant duties and/or responsibilities may include:
- Analyzing financial, accounting, and statistical information in order to quantify lost profits or incremental costs; value businesses and intangible assets; or investigate reporting irregularities
- Examining as-planned and as-built schedules to assess construction or government contract delays and to determine compensable costs and schedule overruns
- Aiding with digital forensics, eDiscovery, data analytics and other high-tech investigation matters
- Assisting with the preparation and evaluation of damages claims, expert reports, and exhibits
- Presenting results visually, orally, and in writing
- Conducting detailed fact-finding and research
- Examining, organizing, and managing data, including building large databases
- Performing quality control reviews
- Delivering superior client service
Required Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing a full-time Bachelor’s degree or completing a Master’s program in the following concentrations: Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics; other majors with relevant coursework may be considered.
- Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale and a graduation date of Winter 2026 or Spring/Summer 2027.
- Requires on-site or hybrid working schedule
- Minimum of 2 Accounting or Finance classes completed or in progress.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with Microsoft Access, SQL, SAS, or other database management software is a plus
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and “big picture” thinking
- Capability to multitask, prioritize, and manage deadlines while working on multiple projects
- Ability to problem-solve independently as well as thrive in an active team environment

What We Offer:
Compensation: HKA offers an annual salary range for this opportunity between $80,000 - $90,000.
