Natural Prairie Dairy is seeking motivated college students and recent graduates who are ready to build a career in production agriculture through our Dairy Management Program.
This hands-on development program gives participants exposure to all major areas of a large-scale dairy operation while building the technical, operational, and leadership skills needed to become a successful dairy manager.
Rather than learning from the sidelines, you'll work directly alongside experienced dairy professionals and leaders, gaining practical experience with cattle, people, technology, equipment, and the day-to-day decisions that keep a modern dairy operation running.
What You'll Experience
Participants rotate through key areas of our dairy operations, including:
- Milking – Equipment operation, milk quality, and data analysis
- Breeding – Genetics, reproductive cycles, and recordkeeping
- Hospital – Cattle health, care, and treatments
- Maternity – Calving, postpartum care, and calf health
- Heifer Ranch – Growth benchmarks and feeding strategies
- Feeding & Nutrition – Ration formulation, nutrition, and equipment operation
- Rolling Equipment – Equipment operation, maintenance, and repairs
- Shop Maintenance – Equipment upkeep and inventory management
- Operations Management – Exposure to budgeting, HR, compliance, and overall dairy operations
Throughout the program, you'll receive mentorship and leadership development while learning how each department works together to achieve operational excellence.
Where This Program Can Take You
Our goal is to develop skilled dairy professionals who are prepared to manage and operate a dairy efficiently. Successful completion of the program is designed to prepare participants for an opportunity to advance into a Junior Dairy Manager position with Natural Prairie Dairy.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for students and recent graduates who:
- Have a degree or are completing a degree in Animal Science, Dairy Science, Agricultural Business, Agricultural Leadership, or a related agricultural field
- Have a genuine interest in production agriculture and animal care
- Want a hands-on career rather than a desk-only position
- Are eager to learn how a large dairy operation works from the ground up
- Demonstrate leadership potential, initiative, and a strong work ethic
- Enjoy solving problems and working as part of a team
- Are interested in building a long-term career in dairy operations and management
Previous dairy experience is valuable, but a strong desire to learn and grow is just as important.
