FULL TIME EMPLOYEES:

Adult Diversion and Acute Stabilization (DAS) Program:
A voluntary, short-term (14-30 days), 14 bed, crisis stabilization program designed to prevent/divert psychiatric hospitalizations or used as a step down for consumers who have been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospitalization.
The DAS unit provides a home-like environment in a comfortable and private setting for consumers to be evaluated and participate in crisis stabilization activities. The program is staffed 24/7 and offers basic psychiatric assessments, medication monitoring, clinical groups, and activities designed to ensure a successful transition back to the consumer's home/community setting.
Job Purpose/Summary
The CRR DAS Manager fosters a program environment where the recovery and well-being of each consumer is the highest priority. The incumbent is responsible for all human, physical, and financial functions of the program, including providing direct service, staff supervision, coaching, technical support, auditing of the clinical record, and financial/budget reporting. The position requires the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team, as well as the ability to facilitate teams to accomplish clear outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in social services.
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience preferred.
Licenses, Certifications & Clearances:
- Act 33/34 Clearances
- FBI Clearance
- Valid State of PA Class 1 Drivers License
- Access to properly insured motor vehicle for client transportation and fieldwork and a safe driving record

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures delivery of quality services by providing leadership, planning, directing, organizing, and influencing the work of others. Develops and accomplishes goals and objectives, continually evaluates processes and outcomes to ensure that services are delivered and continuously improved in an effective and culturally competent manner. Integrates delivery of service with the primary mission and strategic and operational objectives of the agency.
- Directs efficient operations by overseeing staff coverage sufficient to maintain responsive services, assessing the utilization, workflow, and activities of technical/support staff, as assigned, designing and improving processes that continuously improve customer service, auditing records and other documents for accuracy and timely completion to meet regulatory, legal, and/or accrediting requirements, developing and analyzing information and reports for internal management and control using a management information system, and assuring the adequacy of equipment/facilities/work areas as needed.
- Addresses all issues of fraud, waste, and/or abuse as they arise and proactively looks for ways to prevent instances of fraud, waste, and abuse in the service delivery system and work systems of the agency as described in the agency Compliance Plan.
- Develops human resources by recruiting and recommending qualified applicants for employment, orienting, continuously training and coaching staff, communicating, monitoring, and setting performance and productivity standards, appraising performance, developing and implementing a staff development plan that enhances service, supervising the work of assigned staff, contractors, and/or the learning experience of students and interns.
- Assists with the implementation of individual service plans (ISPs), facilitates consumer’s participation in external daytime services, such as the Intensive Outpatient Program and Psychiatric Rehabilitation (PR), leads psycho-educational groups discussing co-occurring disorders, and provides 1-on-1 counseling sessions.
- Assists consumers with daily living needs, including meal serving and clean-up, sanitizing individual rooms upon discharge, laundry, and personal hygiene/independent living skills.
- Assists consumers with their participation in community-based recreational and leisure activities.
- Assists consumers with arranging medical and psychiatric appointments with their Service Coordinators or any service members as needed. Assures consumers have scheduled psychiatric appointments, as needed, each week and attends these appointments when consumers request staff input.
- Provides frequent and on-going emotional support and intervention, as well as utilizes effective problem-solving techniques on a routine basis to consumers in various degrees of emergency crisis.
- Observes consumer’s behavior and reports changes to the Supervisor – CRR DAS and/or emergency on-call personnel when/if necessary. Directly provides appropriate emergency crisis intervention and seeks help as necessary (e.g., other available staff, police, or other emergency medical personnel).
- Responsible for and assisting co-workers with completing and coordinating consumers’ admissions and discharges, along with organizing case records as delegated. Seeks CCBHO, Allegheny County, Beacon, and Westmoreland County authorizations for admissions, along with following through on requesting additional days of stay.
- Inspects furniture and equipment. Identifies and reports needed repairs.
- Communicates and participates in the resolution of clinical and treatment issues with internal professionals regarding consumer services and program operations.
- Ensures that prescribed medications are taken by the consumer on a timely basis and according to physician instructions. Completes medication administration documentation, including pill counts. Trains newly hired staff on medication administration and the newly added Quick MAR process.
- Implements and/or delegates staff to complete scheduled fire safety drills and equipment checks.
- Communicates with Supervisor – CRR DAS or on-call personnel regarding emergency situations. Implements emergency procedures.
- Assumes on-site task management responsibility in the absence of the Supervisor – CRR DAS as delegated.
- Provides training and orientation to newly hired staff in the CRR/DAS program.
