About The Healn Space
The Healn Space is a trauma-informed wellness and mental health organization committed to supporting individuals, families, children, adolescents, and adults through accessible and compassionate mental health services.
We are seeking motivated MSW and Counseling graduate students who are looking for a meaningful clinical internship experience and are interested in working with clients across the lifespan.
Internship Overview
As a Clinical Intern at The Healn Space, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills while working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in both individual and group settings.
Interns will receive guidance and supervision while gaining hands-on experience with clinical assessment, treatment planning, documentation, therapeutic interventions, and client engagement.
This internship is an excellent opportunity for students who want to develop their confidence as future mental health professionals while working within a supportive, trauma-informed environment.
Responsibilities
Clinical interns may be responsible for:
- Providing individual and/or group mental health services under appropriate supervision.
- Working with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
- Building therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Participating in initial client assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations as permitted by training level and supervision requirements.
- Assisting with treatment planning and goal development.
- Utilizing trauma-informed and client-centered approaches.
- Supporting clients with emotional, behavioral, relational, and psychosocial concerns.
- Maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation.
- Completing progress notes and other required documentation.
- Participating in individual and group supervision.
- Participating in staff meetings, case consultations, and clinical trainings.
- Collaborating with other members of the Soul Healn team.
- Maintaining professional boundaries and client confidentiality.
- Following all applicable ethical, legal, school, and organizational requirements.
- Participating in community-based mental health and wellness initiatives when appropriate.
- Developing professional skills related to advocacy, community resources, and integrated wellness.

What We Are Looking For
We are seeking students who are:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited MSW, Clinical Social Work, Counseling, or related graduate program.
- Required by their academic program to complete a clinical or field internship.
- Passionate about helping children, adolescents, adults, and families.
- Interested in trauma-informed mental health care.
- Compassionate, dependable, and professional.
- Comfortable working with diverse populations.
- Open to feedback, supervision, and professional development.
- Strong communicators.
- Organized and able to maintain appropriate clinical documentation.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Committed to ethical and culturally responsive care.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working with children, adolescents, or adults.
Experience in mental health, social services, education, behavioral health, or community programming.
Interest in trauma-informed care.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a clinical team.
Internship Schedule
Internship schedules will be developed based on:
- Student's university requirements
- Required internship hours
- Client availability
- Supervisor availability
- The Healn Space programming needs
Opportunities may include in-person and virtual work, depending on the student's program requirements, clinical appropriateness, and organizational needs.
Supervision & Professional Development
Interns will receive clinical supervision and support appropriate to their educational program and placement requirements.

Stipend
This is an unpaid educational internship with a $18 per hour stipend, subject to verification and supervisor approval.
All internship hours must be documented and approved by the appropriate supervisor in accordance with the student's university requirements.
