Faces of Homelessnes Speakers Bureau: Internship Description

Overview of the Speakers Bureau:  This Speakers Bureau is made up of people who have lived experience with homelessness and who attend private and community speaking engagements to educate people about homelessness and also humanize the issue.

Internship  Position Title:  Speakers Bureau Intern

Internship  Position Summary: The Speakers Bureau Intern will have the ability to work remotely.  The Speakers Bureau Intern will be assist in increasing the reach of the Faces of Homelessness Speakers Bureau. In the last few years the majority of events have been in DC, but we are hoping to expand to having events across the country. 
 

Specific Position Activities:

• Research possible organizations in cities we have speakers.
• Reach out to organizations who might be interested in holding events with speakers.
• Assist in social media efforts to increase the reach of the bureau.
• Attend meetings as necessary.
• Execute all other tasks assigned.

Required Skills:

• Superior research skills
• Working in a diverse and inclusive environment
• Ability to work remotely and without daily supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experiences:

• Direct service with homeless/low-income populations
• Experience in digital and social media writing
• Lived experience with homelessness is a plus!
