Senior Laboratory Scientist (3D Bioprinting & Tissue Engineering)

Location: Philadelphia, PA (BioLabs Hub)

Target Start Date: September 2026 (Adjusted Schedule)

Compensation Range: $75,000 – $85,000 / year

Company & Platform Overview

About CTIBIOTECH USA (Preclinical CRDMO): CTIBIOTECH USA, a Philadelphia-based biotech company, is a rapidly scaling Precision Medicine CRDMO. Our unique "Hybrid Engine" model bridges the gap between passive bio-storage and predictive medical science. By combining GenVault's world-class, GxP-compliant biorepository logistics with CTIBIOTECH's industrialized tissue engineering, we monetize the entire lifecycle of a biological sample. Through our core Preclinical CRDMO pillars—CTIBioSourcing™, CTISkin™, and CTIPharma™—we generate immediate cash-flow and serve as a trusted R&D partner to global pharmaceutical leaders.

About the CTIONCOTEST™ Project: CTIONCOTEST™ is our proprietary precision medicine platform and core valuation driver. It directly solves the critical 95% failure rate in oncology clinical trials caused by inaccurate animal models. Utilizing industrialized 3D-bioprinting and proprietary bio-inks, the platform dissociates a live patient tumor biopsy and re-assembles it into hundreds of identical, reproducible "3D micro-tumors" that perfectly mimic the human tumor microenvironment. CTIONCOTEST™ commercialization is built on three pillars: Laboratory Developed Tests (LDT), Companion Diagnostics (CDx), and Oncology CRO Services.

The Role

As our foundational laboratory hire in Philadelphia, the Senior Laboratory Technician will act as the operational floor lead. You will champion the hands-on execution of our proprietary 3D bioprinting routines, manage active tissue processing, and ensure our scientific workflows run smoothly as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Execution: Lead the daily production of standardized 3D-bioprinted human skin models (CTISkin™) and oncology micro-tumors utilizing proprietary bio-inks.
  • Primary Cell Culture: Manage human primary cell extraction, tissue dissociation, expansion, and banking from fresh patient surgical biopsies.
  • Bioassay Operation: Run complex client screening bioassays (such as ADME-Tox and efficacy testing) under strict aseptic protocol controls.
  • Floor Leadership: Maintain pristine laboratory records, verify GxP compliance metrics, and assist in training and mentoring incoming junior production technicians.

Qualifications

  • Education: B.S. or M.S. in Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or an equivalent technical field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of continuous, hands-on experience in a sterile, regulated mammalian cell culture environment (primary human cell experience highly valued).
  • Competencies: Strong familiarity with multi-axis automated bioprinters or microfluidics equipment; excellent technical troubleshooting and record-keeping skills.
