High School Science Teacher

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach a variety of courses to Deaf students.  
    • Primary focus is in the area of High School Science. 
    • Teach integrated grade-level appropriate courses in chemistry, physical science, earth science, life science, and STEM. 
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and work collaboratively with other school personnel to develop programs, behavior management techniques, and strategies for student success.
  • Integrate 21st-century technology, align curriculum and instruction to Common Core Standards, and prepare students for required NYS assessments and high school science. 
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individual and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.  
  • Write and implement student IEPs.
